Job description
Perry Township is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to provide administrative and project support to the Township Administrator and Administration Office. This position helps coordinate daily office operations, supports meetings and records, assists with communications, and serves as a first point of contact for the public. The role also includes responsibility for cemetery administration and recordkeeping. This is a full-time, unclassified, exempt position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide confidential administrative support to the Administrator and Trustees
- Assist with agendas, minutes, records, correspondence, and document tracking
- Support resident inquiries and customer service
- Help manage office workflows, scheduling, and basic purchasing/finance tasks
- Maintain digital and physical records in accordance with public-records requirements
- Assist with cemetery operations, records, scheduling, and family support
- Provide administrative support for the Zoning Department
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of administrative or office experience (public-sector experience a plus)
- Strong organization, communication, and customer-service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital filing systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently
- Ability to obtain Notary Public certification within six months of hire
