Public Speaks-Open Forum:

Tim Blythe- 2956 Bridgeton St. NW.  Mr. Blythe stated that he appreciates having the ability to speak to the Board during public speaks but feels that over the past few weeks it has gotten out of hand.  Mr. Blythe stated that he feels that the Board could do a better job of curtailing the bashing of certain Department Heads.  It’s not anybody’s job as a resident to micromanage anybody when they don’t know all of the facts.  Trustee Chessler stated that as all local governing bodies do, the Board is very accommodating to a person’s first amendment rights and their rights as taxpayers and citizens to question, challenge and voice decent.  Trustee Chessler stated that he does agree with Mr. Blythe in that there comes a point, and sometimes that point is hard to define or identify, that it goes to a personal attack or something beyond what needs to be done.  The Board adopted some standards and rules last year regarding how to address the Board to help in maintaining some sense of decorum.  Trustee Chessler stated that he tries to air on the side of allowing somebody the widest possible latitude but Mr. Blythe’s comments are well taken.

Adjournment:

With nothing further to come before the Board, Trustee Chessler made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:07pm; Seconded by Trustee Haines.

ROLL CALL: Mr. Chessler, yes.  Mr. Laubacher, yes.  Mr. Haines, yes.
